Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho on October 21 2016, was released through Dreamville Records. Her career began to grow in notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. She continued to upload her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as in Sweat It Out on July 21, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to work on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. In December 2008, the news was made public that Rihanna had been signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that she sang alongside Cozz for her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, she dropped her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks by EarthGang and EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video then released in September. The 9th of November saw her release two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. In November 2013, she released No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single as a way to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. A music video debuted on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within a period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. In December of 2018, she was performing as a support act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
